Overview
YayText is a free text-styling tool supported by advertising. We built it to need as little information about you as possible: there is no account to create, and the text you style is processed on your own device. This policy explains what information is involved when you visit, who handles it and what choices you have.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here is everything that applies:
- Text you type. Styling happens in your browser. Your text is not sent to our server and is not stored there. While a tab is open, your browser may keep the text in its session storage so it follows you between style pages; it is removed when you close the tab.
- Copy history. The last 30 items you copied are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. We cannot see them.
- Contact form. If you write to us, your name, email address and message are sent to us by email so we can reply. They are not stored in the site’s database. We keep the email only as long as we need it to answer you, and we do not sell or share it.
- Spam protection. To stop automated spam, the contact form keeps a counter for one hour, filed under a one-way code made from your IP address rather than the address itself. It is deleted automatically after that hour.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs help keep the site secure and running, and they are kept according to the host’s own retention practices.
- Sharing. If you use the Share on X button, the text you picked is placed in the link that opens X. From that point, the privacy policy of X applies.
Cookies and advertising
The site itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. A small preference cookie may remember which language you chose.
Our pages may show ads from third-party vendors, including Google AdSense. These vendors, Google among them, use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this website and to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
If you turn off personalized advertising, or where it is not permitted, you may still see ads, but they are based on general context such as the page you are reading. Visitors in some regions may be asked for consent before advertising cookies are used.
Your choices
You stay in control of the information on your device and of the ads you see:
- Opt out of personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings.
- Learn more about personalized ads from many other companies, and opt out of them, at www.aboutads.info.
- Delete your copy history with the Clear history button in the copy history panel, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The text tools keep working; if you also block site storage, your copy history will not be saved.
Children
YayText is a general audience tool and is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal details through the contact form, email us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, the law or our advertising partners change. The current version is always the one on this page, and we will point out significant changes here. Please check back from time to time.
