How the tray works

Each symbol you tap is copied right away and also added to the tray at the top of the page. Tap a few in a row to build a divider like ★ ✦ ★ or a little string of hearts, remove the last one with the backspace button, then press Copy all. To find something faster, filter by group or type a name such as heart, arrow or star.

Where to use symbols

These are standard Unicode characters, so they paste into bios, captions, chat messages and documents just like letters. Pair them with a bold heading or a bubble word to make a title stand out. If a symbol shows up as an empty box, the device viewing it lacks that character; the everyday hearts, stars and arrows are widely supported.
