The hearts symbol from a deck of playing cards, a red heart often drawn with a flatter, more graphic shape than the red heart emoji. Its first meaning is the card suit itself, used in posts about card games.
Many people also use it as an ordinary heart, especially in usernames, bios and decorative text: “Thanks for stopping by ♥️” Because it is an older character, some apps show it as a small black or plain symbol unless the emoji style is applied.
