A speaker icon with a slash or cross beside it, the standard symbol for sound turned off.
It means mute, silence or no notifications, literally or as a request to stop talking: “Group chat is chaos today 🔇 muting it until dinner.” It is also used to say a video is fine to watch without sound or that someone is staying quiet on a topic.
