Meaning
A person pressing a palm against their face, eyes hidden, the universal reaction to something painfully silly. It expresses exasperation, disbelief or embarrassment, whether at someone else’s blunder or your own.
It works best when you are the one who messed up: “Drove all the way to the office on a Sunday 🤦” Aimed at another person’s question or mistake, it can feel condescending, as if you are calling them hopeless. Like other people emoji, it comes in different genders and skin tones.
