What it can undo

Fancy text is made of special Unicode characters, so pasting it into a search box, a form or a document often goes wrong: the words are not found, the form rejects them, or a screen reader spells them out. This tool maps those characters back to the letters they imitate. It handles the math-style alphabets (bold, italic, script, gothic, double-struck, monospace and sans serif), bubble and square letters, small caps, superscript and subscript letters, and fullwidth vaporwave text.

It also reverses the look-alike scripts used on this site, Cherokee, Canadian syllabics, Vai, Bamum and cuneiform, and removes marks that sit on letters: strikethrough, slashes, underlines, lightning bolts, tiny faces, diamonds and do-not-enter signs. Mixed input is fine, so a line that combines several styles comes back in one pass.

What stays as it is

Some styles cannot be reversed. Upside-down text uses many characters that are ordinary letters in other alphabets, East Asian look-alikes are real CJK characters, and classified blocks hold no information about the letters they replaced. Emoji added around or between words, such as claps, hearts, air quotes and sparkles, are left in place for you to delete.

Real text in other scripts is protected on purpose. Accented letters, Greek, and Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters pass through untouched, so β€œCafΓ© Ξ©mega 東京” stays exactly the same. That is also why the Greek Ξ›, Ξ and Ξ£ in some vaporwave styles remain.

Case and accents

Letter styles that kept your accents give them back: π“π’πžΜ‚Μπ§π  π•π’πžΜ£Μ‚π returns as TiαΊΏng Việt. Shape styles drop accents when the text is created, so a bubble version, β“‰β“˜β“”β“β“– β“‹β“˜β“”β“£, returns as Tieng Viet; those marks are gone for good. Squares and look-alike scripts have no lowercase, so they come back in capitals. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you paste is sent anywhere. To style the result again, head back to the text generator.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my text come back in capital letters?

Square letters and look-alike scripts such as Cherokee or cuneiform have no lowercase forms, so the tool can only return capitals. Change the case in your editor if needed.

Why are my accents missing?

The style you copied dropped them when the text was created, usually a shape style such as bubble or square. The tool cannot guess which accents were there.

Can it fix upside-down text?

No. Flipped text borrows characters that are normal letters elsewhere, and reversing them would damage real text, so it is left as is.

Is my text stored or uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser, and nothing you paste is sent to a server.
