Meaning
A pale face with hands pressed to its cheeks, eyes wide and mouth open in a scream, a nod to a famous painting. It conveys shock, horror or panic, though in daily chat the fear is usually comic.
It fits both real alarm and exaggerated drama: “I just realized the presentation is TODAY 😱” Fans also use it for jaw-dropping plot twists or big announcements. In genuinely frightening situations, like an accident, it can feel too cartoonish, so plain words of concern are kinder there.
