Meaning
A person with palms turned up and shoulders lifted, the classic shrug. It means “I don’t know,” “who knows,” or “oh well, it is what it is,” and it often carries a relaxed, unbothered attitude.
It suits honest uncertainty and light acceptance: “No idea why the printer works only on Tuesdays 🤷” It can also mean “your choice, I’m fine either way.” When someone needs a real answer or is upset, a lone shrug may look like you do not care, so give at least a short explanation alongside it.
