A train car hanging beneath an overhead rail, travelling above the street. It stands for suspension railways, hanging monorails and unusual elevated transport.
Since it is a rare sight, it appears mostly in travel talk about cities that have one, in engineering chats and at theme parks: “Riding the hanging 🚟 felt like flying over the river”. Some people borrow it for cable cars or futuristic transit.
