Meaning
A dark grey water buffalo with wide, swept-back horns, shown in profile. It represents the working animal of rice-growing regions in Asia, used for ploughing flooded fields.
In the Vietnamese zodiac the buffalo, not the ox, is the animal of the Sửu year, so it is a natural pick for those birthdays and for countryside nostalgia. Example: “Back in the village, kids still ride the buffalo home at sunset 🐃”.
