Meaning
An electrical plug on the end of a cable, with metal prongs ready to go into a socket. It stands for electricity, plugging something in or connecting a device to power.
Beyond chargers and appliances, the word plug is slang for the friend who can get hard-to-find things, and for promoting your own work: “You found concert tickets? You’re the 🔌 for real.” It also shows up in reminders to unplug before a holiday.
