Meaning
A hand raised with its back facing the viewer and the fingers held together. Literally it is a lifted hand seen from behind.
It can signal raising a hand to answer, a polite stop, or a pause in the conversation. Some use it humorously as a backhand slap or a sassy “talk to the hand”. It comes in several skin tones. Pair with ✋ for the front view. Example: “Hold on, let me finish my point first 🤚”.
