Eight ways to mix it up
Each style gives every letter a different look, like words cut from old magazines. Ransom bubbles & squares rotates through white and black bubbles and squares. Kitchen soup 1 and Kitchen soup 2 throw everything in: shapes, script, gothic, double-struck, monospace and the odd plain letter. Font mash 1 and Font mash 2 skip the shapes and mix letter styles only, while Ransom subtle blends bold, italic and plain sans letters for a gentle effect that stays readable: 𝘙𝙖𝗇𝘴𝘰m no𝗍𝘦.
White shapes and Black shapes are the tidiest of the set. They simply alternate bubble and square, as in Ⓢ🄰Ⓛ🄴 or 🅢🅰︎🅛🅴.
Not random, on purpose
The mix looks random, but it is fixed: the style chosen for a letter depends on the letter and its position. That way the letters you already typed do not reshuffle with every keystroke, and the same phrase always gives the same result. Want a different jumble? Pick another of the eight styles.
Accents follow the rules of each ingredient. Letter styles keep them, but bubbles and squares cannot carry them, so in the shape-heavy mixes some letters lose their marks: “Trả tiền đây” becomes Ⓣ𝚛ả ⓣ𝒊ᴇ̂̀🄽 đᴀ̂🅈. For Vietnamese or other accented text, Ransom subtle and the two Font mash styles keep the accents.
Using it well
A few of these characters, such as the black squared A, B, O and P, are also emoji. The generator adds an invisible marker asking for the plain look, but some apps still show them as red emoji blocks. Mixed styles are also tough on screen readers and invisible to search, so save them for a party invite, a meme caption or a playful headline rather than anything people need to read quickly. For one consistent look, see bubble text or square text.
Frequently asked questions
Is the mix different every time?
No. Each letter’s style depends on the letter and where it sits, so the same text always comes out the same. Switch to another style for a new mix.
Why did some letters lose their accents?
Bubble and square letters cannot carry accent marks, so the generator drops the marks on those letters. Ransom subtle and Font mash keep every accent.
Why do some letters show up as red emoji?
Characters like 🅰 and 🅾 are also emoji. A hidden marker asks apps for the text version, but not every app follows it.
Will everyone see the same thing?
Mostly. The letters come from well-established Unicode blocks, but fonts differ, so the exact look of script or gothic letters varies a little between phones and computers.
